On the last December 14th, Revista Paulista de Pediatria, through its editor in chief, Ruth Guinsburg, participated in the VI Annual Meeting of SciELO. The event gathered representatives of scientific journals from all parts of Brazil to disseminate and evaluate advances obtained on behalf of financial professionalization, internationalization, and sustainability of SciELO collection journals.
The Meeting was comprised of panels and lectures on the current scenario of scientific communication and projections for the future. During the lecture “Integrity in scientific communication – responsibility shared between authors and editors”, the vice-coordinator of the Technical Chamber of Research Ethics, Sonia Vasconcelos, reminded the audience of the importance of making the process more transparent, by means of sharing between publishers and authors, and of the responsibility on what is being presented in the studies.
During the lecture "The future of journal publishing”, otherwise, the director of the Open Scholarship Initiative program, Glenn Hampson, discussed about future predictions for scientific publishing and about the importance of thinking on new ways of action in the dynamic market of scientific communication.
Finally, in the closing panel, the director of SciELO/ FAPESP Program, Abel Packer, emphasized the importance of this kind of event to exchange experiences and to strengthen the scientific community in Brazil.
